Dollar General fist opened in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. It was developed as a basic discounter where people could find daily needs at a reasonable price. Most stores are located in areas that are densely populated and with little or no retailers avaliable.

This store has been in Parklane for six years. It has seen several managers and lots of changes. The quality of merchandise has grown immensely. At first, the store recieved a shipment every two weeks, but now receives a shipment twice a week. Consequently, the Parklane store is the highest volume store in the Wichita area. Among the many new updates is that all items sold are traced by a satellite system that will allow automatic replenishment. Within the next year or two, we will also accept debit and Vision cards and possibly credit transactions.

An Hispanic food category has been added along with Hispanic/religious candles all while keeping prices steady throughout the year.

With over 10,000 items that are replenished up to twice weekly, we have an excellent assortment of basic household needs. We also carry about 25% of new and changing promotional items to keep a new mix on things. We currently have a staff of nine people who have worked here from 1 to 5 years. This longevity of staff allows us to cater to your needs and the needs of other customres.

We ask that you check us out on the lower level at Lincoln St. You won't be sorry you did.
