Nancy Huynh, owner

Nancy Huynh opened Nancy's Alteration Shop in 1986 in the Parklane Shopping Center. She began learning her trade in Viet Nam when she was sixteen years old. Nancy migrated to the United States in 1981. With her special talent with a needle, she was able to work towards opening her own business in Wichita at 936 S. Oliver.

Until that time, Ed Root, a well-known tailor, had his tailoring and alteration shop at this location for more than eleven years. Nancy's business has grown over the last 15 years, offering services from simple alterations to custom-made clothing. Nancy gets repeat customers from all over Wichita due to her great service in alteration and tailoring.

When asked what her philosophy in business is, Nancy said, "The key to a successful business is hard work, honesty, and good quality service that meets the customer's satisfaction." Nancy is in her shop almost 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. "...To me, it's my second home," she said.
