Welcome
to the southwest! After five years at Towne East Square, Southwest
Gifts & Collectibles has relocated to Parklane Shopping Center.
The store is now located at the southwest corner of the mall - just
look for the Indian.
The
idea for Southwest Gifts & Collectibles began in Albuquerque,
NM where Sharon Tomlinson, owner, lived for 23 years. During that
time she worked in the Indian Arts and Crafts wholesale business
for 9 years, allowing her to visit many Indian reservations throughout
the southwest and develop a one-on-one relationship with several
of the artists featured in the store.
In
1994, Sharon opened Southwest Gifts & Collectibles in Branson,
MO. She stayed there until 1997 when she moved to Wichita. Sharon
enjoys sharing her knowledge and appreciation for fine Indian Arts
& Crafts. Her store features many Indian hand-made goods including
sterling silver, turquoise, onyx, opal, malachite, and Zuni inlay
jewelry, Navajo, Zuni and Hopi kachinas/dancers, Cochiti drums,
one piece flutes with an instructional CD and book, rugs and blankets,
paintings by Cherokee artists Bill and Traci Rabbit and Navajo artist
Toni Redbird, and fetishes. Also featured are limited edition prints
and posters, southwest style home decor including lamps, water fountains,
wind chimes, wall art, kitchen and bath decor, hand assembled kiln-dried
Insigne pine furniture inlaid with select pieces of Quisco cactus
wood from the Andean hillsides of northern Chile, and decor made
by local Kansas artists.
Southwest
Gifts & Collectibles is enjoying their spacious new location
and invite you to come in and bask in the relaxing native American
music and soothing sounds of the waterfalls while you shop.
Just
look for the Indian.
